After the Game
|
If you have ever walked over the Mass Pike bridge after a game toward Kenmore Square, you know where everyone goes after Red Sox games: Cask ‘n Flagon. Even after it has been redone and prices have been jacked up, the line still extends around the corner. I typically push around the crowd and head straight to the back bar for a bit of breathing room. Sometimes the line takes a while, but its usually worth it. If you are after souveniers, the Yawkey Way store is always packed, but still the best place to go for official merchadise. By official, this also means expensive. If you don’t want to pay $20+ for a hat, take a walk around the ballpark and hit the much more economically priced street vendors. And, as always, there will be plenty of Tshirt vendors. The rules are such that the Red Sox own the area around Fenway before and during the game. The food vendors and select souvenier guys out there before and during have a permit from the Red Sox that they have to pay through the roof for. Once the game is over, the Red Sox rights to the streets around the park and through as well, and they come out of the woodwork selling tshirts. There are plenty to choose from, ranging from the funny to the offensive (if you are from NYC). There should be plenty to choose from. |
