Where to Stay
|
Fenway Park is right in the heart of Boston, though it’s not all that close to downtown (not walking distance at least). The Copley Marriot is typically the hotel most travel groups stay in, as it’s right near Prudential/Copley Mall, with plenty of bars, restaurants, shopping, and it’s only about a 15-20 min. walk to Fenway. Also in the walking distance area are the Sheraton and Hyatt, though if you are looking for lodging on the cheap, try the Midtown Motel on Huntington Ave. Its pretty much on the campus of Northeastern University, across from Symphony Hall and is close to Fenway. Alternatively, the Holiday Inn in Brookline is possibly the closest hotel to the park Fenway nearly borders the town of Brookline. Brian Daubach used to live here when he was called up from Pawtuckett and could be seen walking to the park on many game days. Another good tip, if you are on a tight budget, is the Youth Hostel on Comm Ave. During the school year, its BU dorms, but in the summers, its wide open! Its affordable, comfortable, and serves the purpose for those out of towners with a passion for the Sox. The rooms are very basic, but its literally a 5 min walk from Fenway, next to Bertucci’s and Chicago Grill. Great location and a great recommendation for people or students on a tight budget. No matter what you choose, the best way to get to the park is always the T, so anywhere in the city should do. |
